“In my practice I have represented Departments of Social Services, corporate guardianship agencies, and numerous families applying for guardianship of a loved one,” Watford said. “The North Carolina Guardianship Association plays an essential role in supporting professionals and families involved in this important work.”

Founded in 1997, theNCGA is a private, non-profit organization developed through collaboration among family-member guardians, volunteers, agency personnel, attorneys, and Clerks of Superior Court. The organization promotes statewide standards of excellence in guardianship through advocacy, education, and legislation.

At Robinson & Lawing, Mr. Watford’s work spans guardianship, estate administration, and appellate matters, where he is often appointed to represent parents in complex appeals arising from Child Protective Services decisions. His commitment to fairness, compassion, and legal precision reflects both his personal values and the firm’s enduring dedication to public service.

The firm congratulates Mr. Watford on this well-earned recognition and looks forward to supporting his continued contributions to the NCGA and the guardianship community across North Carolina.
